Tory Burch Event Supporting Strides for Stroke

It was the celebraTORY event of the year!! Partnering with Tory Burch Yorkdale, Universal Care Inc. held a fundraiser in honour of Mackenzie Health Foundation’s 10th Annual Richview Manor Strides for Stroke, the party to end all parties was held right here at Richview Manor on December 10th 2014. With Life Enrichment Manager Anna Walpole and Assistant General Manager of Tory Burch Yorkdale Maeghan McGill taking the lead, the evening was brought to life. Merchandise draped the room. Everything from their clothing line, handbags, jewelry, perfumes, shoes, gloves, notebooks and so, so much more. Fashion stylists were available at each table ready to answer all the questions anyone had. Those in attendance had a 1 in 3 chance of winning a complementary Tory Burch luxury travel makeup case, as well as the grand prize, a magnificent leather purse valued at $600. We also had two auctions, a sea foam Fleming cross-body bag valued at $500, and a shopping experience of a lifetime featuring a complimentary limo ride, dinner and personal shopping experience showcasing the new Spring Tory Burch Collection before anyone else. By the end of the night, we raised nearly $2000 on the auctions alone. We thank those tremendously generous donors for their support of this meaningful cause. Our unbelievable culinary team wowed the crowd with the exquisite and delectable menu on display. The event was sponsored by Wynn Construction and the Di Poce family.

His Eminence De Paolis Visits Richview Manor

Richview Manor was incredibly honoured to have welcomed from Rome, His Eminence Velasio Cardinal De Paolis C.S. of the Holy See, a Cardinal of the Catholic Church. Spearheaded by Vilma Cortellucci-Fiuza and Maria Racco, the daughter of one of our residents, His Eminence was in Toronto to take part in a fundraiser for a cause near and dear to his heart: The Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) a charity whose mission is to help safeguard and promote the dignity and rights of migrants and refugees all over the world. The foundation helps to fund building of social service centers, medical clinics, orphanages and shelters to name a few of their projects. Residents, family members and volunteers filled the room as he blessed everyone in attendance and our home. Richview Manor is eternally grateful to His Eminence, along with his companion Father Vincenzo for taking the time out of their very busy schedule to meet and pray with us. We presented him with a plaque marking this special occasion, while our volunteer Maria gifted him with rosary beads. Likewise, our residents were graciously gifted with hand-made Swarovski rosaries, provided by Richview Manor and blessed by His Eminence De Paolis himself. Canadian Tenors Make Special Visit To Richview Manor

On Friday, August 10, 2012, the Canadian Tenors were hosted before their private engagement at Richview Manor Enriched Retirement Living in Maple, Ontario. Richview Manor was honoured to have them at the home and they thanked all by giving a performance to the residents and staff. The Canadian Tenors sang “Hallelujah” and “Happy Birthday” to one of their residents celebrating his birthday in the month of August, Mr. Robert Adair. The residents and staff enjoyed the performance by The Canadian Tenors and would love to see them again in the future. Richview Manor would like to wish continued success to the talented, gracious and endearing group, The Canadian Tenors.

Richview Manor Honours Vaughan Emergency Services

Richview Manor honoured our Vaughan Emergency Services Personnel by hosting their annual BBQ on July 16th; all enjoyed fabulous food, refreshments and entertainment. Richview Manor residents, families and staff would like to thank all Emergency Personnel for everything that they do. Their commitment to helping and protecting the community is beyond question. It is because of these fine individuals and their sense of dedication that all of us are safer where we live, play and work each day. The delicious spread was made that much sweeter as those in uniform could actually take the time to sit down with the residents at Richview Manor, who were delighted to thank them in person and offer them praise for their courage and bravery.

Oscar Night At Richview Manor

On March 2nd, students from Musaic School of Music dazzled the audience with musical performances from Oscar winning and nominated songs, celebrating the Oscars both past and present. Everyone got caught up in the Oscar-fever by walking the red carpet and posing for pictures. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served much to the delight of all attendees.
